God’s Glory operates community living arrangement for individuals with an intellectual disability, in Buck, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia County. Direct Support Professional (DSP) employed in the group home provides services to adults with intellectual disabilities who choose to live in a community setting. Our goal is to encourage independent quality lifestyles while ensuring the safety, welfare, and health of the individuals we serve.
Staff at the group home provides 24-hour care and supervision for the individuals. Our homes will provide support to up to 4 people. Services provided to individuals in the home are individualized. Every effort is made to respond to the individuals in a manner that suits their desires and interests. Staff provides support that promotes each individual’s independence while allowing them to accomplish everyday tasks. Each individual’s role in self-care, cooking, laundry, and upkeep of their home is based not only on their interests, but on their capacity to participate in the task at hand.
During the week, the individuals have the option to work or volunteer within their community. They may also attend day programs where they spend time with other adults developing new skills through life experiences that will enhance their self-identity. At home, the individuals are encouraged to make healthy choices and decisions while enhancing their skills and interests through personalized goals. They can often be found enjoying recreational activities such as a movie night, playing board games or making a craft. Community events include movies, shopping, eating out, picnics, dances, and local events.
Our staff members make sure that your loved ones get to experience a comfortable, family-like living environment in their own home. We assists each individual achieve independent lives through education, community connections, training, and self-directed service plans.
